Could North Canton Sell Arrowhead Golf & Event Center? Here's What We Know
North Canton is exploring a possible change in ownership or management for Arrowhead Golf & Event Center, a longtime community destination.

If you've lived in or around North Canton for a while, there's a good chance you're familiar with Arrowhead Golf & Event Center. Whether you've played a round of golf, attended a wedding, enjoyed the swimming pool or spent time on the pickleball courts, Arrowhead has been a familiar part of the community for years.
Now, the City of North Canton is considering what the future of the property could look like — and one of the possibilities includes selling it.
But before anyone gets concerned, no sale has been announced, and there are currently no announced plans to close Arrowhead.
What Is North Canton Considering?
On October 7, 2026, the City of North Canton announced that it is accepting proposals for the future operation of Arrowhead Golf & Event Center.
The city is exploring two potential options:
Option 1: New Management
A private company could take over management and operation of the facility under an agreement lasting at least five years.
Under this arrangement, the city would retain ownership of the property while an outside company would be responsible for its day-to-day operations.
Option 2: Selling the Property
The city is also accepting proposals from interested buyers who may want to purchase Arrowhead.
However, there's an important condition: Any potential sale would include deed restrictions requiring the existing amenities and operations to be preserved for at least 10 years.
That means the city isn't simply putting the property up for sale without considering its current recreational uses.
What's Included at Arrowhead Golf & Event Center?
Located at 1500 Rogwin Circle SW in North Canton, Arrowhead encompasses more than 105 acres and offers several recreational and event amenities, including:
An 18-hole golf course
Clubhouse and pro shop
Swimming pool
Restaurant and grille
Event and banquet facilities
Six public pickleball courts
For many residents, Arrowhead is more than a golf course. It's a place for recreation, family gatherings, celebrations and community activities.
That's why the possibility of a change in management or ownership is likely to generate plenty of local interest.
Does This Mean Arrowhead Is Closing?
No. There has been no announcement that Arrowhead is closing.
At this stage, the City of North Canton is gathering proposals and evaluating potential options.
No buyer has been selected, and no final decision to sell the property has been announced.
The proposed 10-year restrictions are also an important detail because they are intended to protect the property's existing amenities and operations if a sale moves forward.
However, those restrictions would not necessarily guarantee that every aspect of the facility, including pricing, memberships or management policies, would remain unchanged.
Why Would the City Consider Selling Arrowhead?
Cities periodically evaluate how public facilities are owned, funded and operated.
Options such as private management or ownership can potentially change how a property is maintained, operated and financed.
According to the city's announcement, North Canton is seeking proposals that prioritize financial sustainability, professional management, customer service and continued community value.
However, North Canton has not announced a final decision, and it would be premature to assume that selling Arrowhead would be financially better or worse for the community without reviewing the proposals.
The details of any agreement would matter, including the purchase price, operating responsibilities, future investments and protections for public access.
What Happens Next?
Interested parties have until November 13, 2026, at 4:30 p.m., to submit proposals to the City of North Canton.
After that deadline, city officials can review the submissions and determine whether to move forward with a management agreement, a potential sale or another course of action.
For now, Arrowhead's future remains an open question.
What Could This Mean for North Canton Residents?
Changes involving a property this large can have implications beyond the facility itself.
Residents may be interested in how a potential change could affect:
Recreational opportunities and public access
Golf and swimming memberships
Pricing and facility availability
Property maintenance and improvements
Future investment in the facility
Community events and programming
As a local Realtor, I pay attention to decisions involving major community properties because parks, recreational facilities and neighborhood amenities are part of what makes an area attractive to people who live there or are considering moving there.
North Canton has a lot to offer, and community destinations like Arrowhead are part of what makes the area special.
For now, the most important thing is to separate what's being considered from what's actually been decided.
North Canton is exploring options for Arrowhead. It has not announced a sale or closure.
What Do You Think?
Should the City of North Canton maintain ownership of Arrowhead Golf & Event Center, or would you support private ownership if the recreational amenities remain protected?
Have you attended an event, played golf or spent time at Arrowhead?
I'd love to hear what local residents think!
