For those of us who know Hartville Hardware as a go-to stop for home projects, tools, and renovation inspiration, this news offers a look at another side of the business: its connection to the people and companies building our communities.

What Does Dutchcraft Do?

Founded in 2004 by Reggie and Jennette Stoltzfus, Dutchcraft manufactures custom roof and floor trusses—the structural components that help support roofs and floors.

The company serves residential, agricultural, and commercial construction projects. Its 20,000-square-foot facility in Minerva supplies lumberyards and building suppliers, with delivery available within a 150-mile radius.

What Will Change?

According to the companies’ announcement, Dutchcraft will retain its name, leadership, and existing customer relationships.

Hartville Hardware President Scott Sommers emphasized the companies’ shared commitment to hard work, caring for people, and standing behind their products. Dutchcraft General Manager Reggie Stoltzfus described the partnership as an opportunity to grow while maintaining the relationships and service customers already know.

For customers, that means a familiar company will continue operating with the backing of a larger business.

Why It Matters Locally

Hartville Hardware has been part of the community since 1972. Today, it operates its flagship Hartville store along with locations in Middlefield and Coshocton.

This acquisition expands its role in the building supply industry while connecting two established Northeast Ohio businesses.

As a local Realtor, I’m always interested in the businesses behind our homes—from the companies supplying structural materials to the contractors and homeowners bringing projects to life. This story is a reminder that a familiar local name can have a reach well beyond our community.

And as a Hartville-area resident, it’s exciting to see a business with roots here continue to grow.
