Big Changes Coming to Jellystone Park Akron-Canton: New Water Zone Planned for 2027

If your family loves spending summer days at the pool, there’s a pretty exciting addition coming to the Akron-Canton area.

Jellystone Park Akron-Canton has announced plans for an all-new water zone opening in 2027, and this isn’t just a small pool renovation. The park says the project will completely transform its existing pool area with new pools, waterslides, interactive water features and significantly more seating.

What’s Coming to Jellystone Park Akron-Canton?

According to Jellystone Park’s announcement, the new water zone is expected to include:

• Two 2,000-square-foot heated swimming pools

• 13 new waterslides incorporated into a multi-level wet playground

• A heated waterslide landing pool

• Dump buckets and interactive spray features

• A new creek-side deck

• Significantly increased seating capacity

The concept images show a large, colorful water-play structure surrounded by multiple pools and plenty of space for families to spread out.

What About the Big Blue Waterslide?

If you’ve been to Jellystone before, you probably know the 144-foot blue waterslide — and it isn’t going anywhere.

Jellystone says the longtime attraction will remain as part of the new water area and will be upgraded with its own heated landing pool.

So families who already love the park will still have one of its familiar attractions alongside all of the new additions.

When Will the New Water Zone Open?

The new water zone is currently planned for 2027.

Another Family Attraction Growing in the Akron-Canton Area
